The National Mall
This is undoubtedly the first stop for most tourists that visit Washington, and the best part about it is that most of the attractions are absolutely free. Kennedy Centre
This is considered the premier concert hall in Washington, offering free performances every single evening at around 18:00 pm. U.S Capitol
When you visit the U.S Capitol, please remember that guided tours are absolutely free of charge. However, they do require tickets which are given on a first-serve, first-come basis, so ensure you get there early. While you wait for the tour to start, you are more than welcome to browse through the galleries which are on display at the Capitol Visitor Centre, portraying historical artefacts, live video feeds from the Senate House, and a 10-foot Capitol Dome model which you can touch.
National Gallery of Art
This phenomenal art museum comes equipped with some of the most valuable collections of masterpieces across the globe. It features decorative arts, sculptures, photographs, prints, drawings, and paintings. You will also get the opportunity to explore both the West and East buildings and you’ll be allowed to take a stroll outside where you can visit the Sculpture Garden of the National Gallery of Art.
Arlington National Cemetery
Over 330,000 servicemen from America, including famous Americans, are all buried in this 624-acre cemetery in Arlington. Visitors are allowed to walk the grounds at no additional charge or opt-in to take a very informative bus tour. We also recommend that you witness the Changing of the Guard ceremony when visiting the Arlington House as the Tomb of the Unknowns. The best views in Washington can be seen from this lovely destination.
