The Raipur Cricket Stadium, Chhattisgarh
Established in 2008, the Raipur Cricket Stadium boasts with a 65,000 seating capacity and is home to the Chhattisgarh cricket team. This is considered the second biggest stadium in the country which is situated in one of the youngest states. The first international cricket match that was played at the stadium was between the state cricket team and Canada on 21 November 2010.
DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai
Established in 2008, the DY Patil Cricket Stadium is home to the Pune Warriors India and boasts with a 60,000 seating capacity. The cricket stadium was constructed to compete with the best cricket stadiums from across the globe and is considered one of the newest entries on our list.
Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Kochi
This cricket stadium was initially constructed in 1982 but received several renovations in 2010. The stadium is home to the Kerela cricket team and offers a seating capacity of 60,000. This is regarded as the fourth biggest stadium in the country and was originally constructed to host various football games. However, it’s now considered a venue for both domestic and international cricket games.
Rajiv Gandhi Cricket Stadium, Hyderabad
Constructed in 2004, the Rajiv Gandhi Cricket Stadium offers a seating capacity of 55,000 spectators and is home to the Deccan Chargers and the Hyderabad cricket team. It comes as quite a surprise that the home team has never managed to win a single match at the stadium. Especially considering it has played host to a test match and three ODI’s where India lost the ODI matches and drawn during the test match.
Sardar Patel Stadium, Gujarat
Home to the Gujarat Cricket team, the Sardar Patel Stadium was initially constructed in 1982 and comes with a seating capacity of 54,000. The stadium is the biggest venue in Gujarat which is situated in Motera, Ahmedabad. It’s commonly referred to as Motera stadium which has played host to some of the best cricket games in history.
Vidarbha Cricket Stadium, Nagpur
This stadium is home to the Central Zone cricket team and the Vidarbha cricket team, boasting with a seating capacity of 45,000. The stadium was initially built in 2008 and features facilities that are above par when compared to other stadiums. The first game that was played here was between India and Australia where India won the match.
