This movie is based on a 30-year-old gymnast that suffers from deep psychological scars due to his brutal training program that started during his childhood. He decides to move to Canada to start anew as a coach but quickly falls into the same cycle where his pupils undergo the same agony as he did. Thankfully, there’s a young athlete that has the opportunity to become a champion, which is his only redemption at the end.

The film is based on Nadia Comaneci, a gymnast that managed to receive seven perfect 10’s during the 1976 Montreal Olympics when she was on uneven bars on 18 July. She managed to become the youngest and first gymnast to accomplish such a feat. This movie is a real insight into the effort that goes into gymnastics.

Jump Ashin

The movie revolves around a Taiwanese boy who loves gymnastics and trans for it his entire life. However, his mother doesn’t see the devotion and decides to remove him from the gymnastics during his training session to be apart of the national team. After his dream fails, he finds himself in the wrong crowd where fights and drugs form part of his routine. After he hits rock bottom, he realizes his dream once again and decides to give it one more chance.

Kukolka

The movie is based on a young gymnast from Russia who is forced to quit her favourite sport due to several injuries. She decides to return to a life filled with teaching but soon realizes that the world she was raised in is everything but ordinary. The film takes a horrifying, dark, and intense turn to keep you watching until the very end.

The Gabby Douglas Story

The story revolves around the very first black gymnast in the history of the Olympics that managed to receive the All-around champion title. She was the first gymnast from the United States to win a gold medal. It’s worth a watch.
